Umrah Intention - Umrah is one of the sunnah worship services performed in the holy city of Makkah. In Indonesia itself, Umrah is often known as the small Hajj, because all the series of worship activities are not as long as the Hajj.
Umrah activities also have a flexible time, unlike the Hajj which is only carried out at certain moments. Like other obligatory or sunnah worship, this worship must be preceded by the intention of Umrah. Because of the difference in the type of worship, the intention of Umrah is different from the intention of Hajj.
If truFriends have the intention to perform Umrah in the near future, then truFriends are required to know and practice Umrah intentions.
Recitation of Umrah Intention
According to the book Umrah: A Guide to Practical Umrah by Ahmad Alawi, the intention of Umrah is carried out when the pilgrim is already in the vehicle heading to the city of Makkah.
In accordance with the ritual of starting Umrah, pilgrims must already be in a state of ihram when they want to recite the intention of Umrah. Meanwhile, the place to perform the intention of Umrah is outside the city of Makkah.
Usually if the pilgrims who perform Umrah come from the direction of Medina, the intention will be made when they are at Bir Ali. As for Indonesian Umrah pilgrims who come from countries east of Mecca, the designated place is Yalamlam.
The purpose of reading the Umrah intention itself is so that the Umrah pilgrims can be conveyed clearly and given ease by Allah SWT. Here is the intention of Umrah:
"Nawaitul 'umrata wa ahramtu bihi lillahi ta'ala labbaika Allahumma 'umratan."
Meaning: "I intend to perform Umrah and enter ihram for the sake of Allah. I welcome your call, O Allah, to perform Umrah."
Other Prayers Recited in the Holy Land
Umrah is performed in various stages. Therefore, there are several other worship activities and prayers while performing the worship. The other prayers are as follows:

Meaning: "In the name of Allah, peace and blessings be upon the Messenger of Allah. O Allah, forgive my sins and open the doors of your mercy. I seek refuge in Allah, the Most Glorious, with His Noble Face, and with His beginningless power from the stoned devil."

Bismillahi wallahu akbar, allahumma imanan bika wa tashdiqan bi kitabika wa wafaan bi 'ahdika wat tiba'an li sunnati nabiyyika muhammadin shallahu 'alaihi wa sallam
Meaning: "By the name of Allah, and Allah is the Greatest, O Allah! By believing in You, confirming Your Book (the Qur'an), being faithful to Your promise and by following the Sunnah of Your Prophet (I circumambulate around this Ka'bah)."
