Proper Hajj ProceduresEvery year Muslims from all over the world come to the holy place and perform the pilgrimage. The following is the proper implementation of the pilgrimage:
1. Ihram from the specified MiqatThe procedure for the first pilgrimage is to wear ihram or hajj and umrah clothes at the specified time and place. Miqat is the time limit and place to perform the Hajj or Umrah pilgrimage. There are two miqat, namely: Miqat Zamani (time limit) and Miqat Makani (limit place).
The deadline for performing the pilgrimage is in the months of Shawwal, Zulkaidah, and Zulhijah. Meanwhile, the limit of places to start the pilgrimage is located in several cities depending on the direction of arrival of the pilgrims.
Do not forget that pilgrims also need to read the intention of Hajj. The following readings and the meaning of the intentions of the pilgrimage that need to be understood:
"Nawaitul hajja wa ahramtu bihi lillahi ta'ala labbaika Allahumma hajjan"
Meaning: "I intend to perform Hajj and enter ihram because of Allah SWT. I welcome Your call, O Allah, to perform Hajj."
2. Standing at ArafahWukuf at Arafah is held on 9 Zulhijah and begins after sunrise at dawn on 10 Zulhijah or Hari Raya Idul Adha. There are wukuf practices that pilgrims can do, namely:Doing the midday and asr prayers by performing the qashar and plural prayers at the beginning of time;Listening to the khutbah of wukuf;Increase prayer;Increase dhikr;Reciting Al-Qur'an;Doing the Maghrib and Isya Prayers by doing qasar and plural at the beginning of time.3. Tawaf IfadahTawaf is included in the pillars of Hajj, if it is not done then the worship is invalid. During the tawaf, the congregation surrounds the Kaaba to the right seven times. Three times the round is done by jogging and four times walking normally.
4. Sa'iSa'i is jogging between the hills of Safa and Marwah. The time is done after working on the tawaf. This activity was carried out seven times back and forth. Starting from Safa then ending in Marwah.
5. Overnight at MuzdalifahMuzdalifah is a place name between Arafah and Mina. After midnight, the pilgrims leave Arafah for Mina. At Muzdalifah, pilgrims need to stop briefly to carry out the mabit practice, which in Arabic means to stop or spend the night.
Pilgrims who come before midnight, need to wait until midnight. Because, the execution time of mabit is midnight until sunrise. Some of the practices carried out at Muzdalifah are as follows:
dhikr;Pray;Istighfar;Reading the talbiyah;Reciting Al-Qur'an;Pick up 7, 49, or 70 pebbles to throw the jumrah.6. Throwing Jumrah AqabahThe procedure for the next pilgrimage is to throw the Jumrah Aqabah which contains 7 small stones. Throw them not simultaneously, but one by one on the 10th of Zulhijah.
7. TahallulTahallul is releasing oneself from the ihram of Hajj after doing the deeds of Hajj. Tahallul has two stages, the first is carried out after throwing the number of aqabah by shaving at least 3 strands of hair.
During tahallul, pilgrims can be allowed to do all the prohibitions during ihram, except for husband and wife relations. After the first tahalul, the pilgrims will carry out the tawaf ifadah and head straight to Mecca.
8. Staying in Mina and Throwing the PilgrimageAfter completing the tahalul, the pilgrims return to Mina to perform mabit during Tasyrik Day on the 11th, 12th and 13th of Zulhijjah. Pilgrims will throw three jumrahs namely: Ula, Wusta, and Aqabah, each of which is seven times.
9. Tawaf of WadaThe last pilgrimage journey is Tawaf Wada, which is also known as the farewell tawaf. Pilgrims carry it out when they want to leave Mecca.
After this, pilgrims are not allowed to return to the hotel to stay overnight, except to pick up their belongings or go to the toilet. After that, the congregation can return to their hometown or make a pilgrimage to the Prophet's tomb.
Procedures / Order of UmrahOverall the procedures for Hajj and Umrah are almost the same. However, there is a slight difference between the two. truFriends can find the answer in the following Umrah procedures:
1. BerihramSame with n hajj, umrah must be preceded by doing ihram from the miqat. Do not forget that the Umrah congregation pronounces the intention of Umrah, namely:n hajj, umrah must be preceded by doing ihram from the miqat. Do not forget that the Umrah congregation pronounces the intention of Umrah, namely:
“Labbaik Allahumma 'umratan”
Meaning: "I welcome Your call, O Allah, to perform Umrah."
2. TawafAfter completing ihram and intention, pilgrims will travel to the Kaaba in Mecca. During the trip it is recommended to repeat the talbiyah which reads:
"Labbaik Allahumma labbaik, labbaika la sharika laka labbaik. Innal hamda wannikmata laka walmulka la syarikalak.
After arriving at the Kaaba, Umrah pilgrims will start the tawaf from the position of the Black Stone for seven times. Then, when they are able to reach the Black Stone, the congregation then says Allahu Akbar and rubs the Black Stone with their right hand and kisses it.
However, if this is not possible due to the large number of Umrah pilgrims, it is enough to face the Black Stone then raise your right hand towards it and say "Bismillah Allahu Akbar".
3. Performing the Sa'iWhen the Umrah pilgrims arrive between the two hills, Safa and Marwah, do sa'i or jog from Safa to Marwah seven times. Sa'i starts from Safa then to Marwah.
4. TahallulFor female worshipers, tahalul can be done by gathering some of the hair at the ends of the knuckles, then cutting it. Meanwhile, it is sunnah for the male congregation to shave their hair bald or to trim their hair a little.
