"Performing Hajj is an obligation upon mankind towards Allah, for those who are able to travel to the House of Allah. Whoever denies (the obligation of Hajj), then surely Allah is rich (in need of nothing) from the universe." (QS. Ali Imran: 97).

وَأَذِّن فِى ٱلنَّاسِ بِٱلْحَجِّ يَأْتُوكَ رِجَالًا وَعَلَىٰ كُلِّ ضَامِرٍ يَأْتِينَ مِن كُلِّ فَجٍّ عَمِيقٍ
"And call out to the people to perform Hajj, and they will come to you on foot and on lean camels from far and wide" (al-Hajj: 27).
There is a difference in the place to perform Hajj and Umrah after miqat. The term miqat means the time limit and place to start the ihram of Hajj or Umrah.
The Miqat for Hajj is in Makkah (Masjidil Haram), Jabal Rahmah, Mina, and Arafat. Meanwhile, the umrah miqat is in several places such as: Mecca (Grand Mosque) and Medina (Nabawi Mosque).
